            Women Making a Mark

            FROM THE PUBLISHER

Atlanta magazine has long recognized those among us who are doing extraordinary work in our community to make us and our city better. We are pleased to introduce this year’s Women Making a Mark honorees, 13 exceptional women who have left—and continue to leave—their mark on so many. These honorees are committed to their professions and their community.

They exhibit tireless dedication, strong leadership, and impassioned goodwill. They’re leading major philanthropic organizations, directing policy, blazing trails for women in business and education, spearheading revitalization efforts, and connecting diverse communities. In short, they are all making a mark, and we trust their stories will move you as much as they did us.

We began the 2019 selection process many months ago by asking our readers to help us identify women they believe are shaping the community. After receiving the largest number of nominations to date, our team read each nomination, deliberated, and decided on the honorees. As you can imagine, selecting these 13 finalists was challenging! All of the women nominated are doing incredible work.

We’d like to give a special thank you to Waldorf Astoria Atlanta, for hosting our Women Making a Mark luncheon this year, and for serving as the backdrop for the photo shoots and video interviews of our honorees. Thank you, too, to our other sponsors: Celebrity Cruises, the Cobb Chamber of Commerce, Brown & Co. Jewelers, the Junior League of Atlanta, Rose Jasmine, The Shops Buckhead Atlanta, and Blo Blow Dry Bar. This program wouldn’t be possible without their support. Congratulations to all of our Women Making a Mark honorees!

These honorees are committed to their professions and their community. They exhibit tireless dedication, strong leadership, and impassioned goodwill. The objective of Women Making a Mark is to celebrate the contributions and successes of metro-Atlanta women and to recognize the impact they are having on those around them.
